Skin Cancer Removal

Skin cancer affects many men and women in Northern Michigan. At The Center, we have the expertise to remove small areas of skin cancer or can work in conjunction with your dermatologist to successfully restore the skin’s appearance following larger removals.

Skin Cancer Removal

Skin cancer

Remove skin cancer cells and restore normal appearance and function.

Identifying the presence and type of skin cancer is the first step in getting it under control. We recommend that most skin cancers be surgically removed. Making sure that all of the skin cancer is removed is of utmost importance.

Our experienced surgeons can remove small cancers relatively quickly in our office or at the surgical center, using local anesthesia. For larger cancers, or if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, major surgery may be necessary. Restoring normal function and appearance are the main goals of plastic surgery for skin cancer.

Plastic surgeons are also instrumental in closing wounds created by other physicians, typically by the Mohs technique. Our surgeons take pride in restoring a patients appearance after such procedures and use a variety of complex flaps and grafts to do so.

Patient Reviews

Outstanding Plastic Surgeon! Conscientious and caring staff! The office surroundings are conducive to getting well and healing. Cleanliness is at the forefront and and is impeccable. If you want an outstanding Plastic Surgeon, I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Jeffries.

“My husband is a physician and calls Dr. Thomas an RD—a real doctor. I think it’s because we have always felt like Dr. Thomas is so careful and gets the full picture before he makes any decisions or suggestions. Every time I’ve met with him I feel like he’s one of my warm dear sons who is just sitting down to have a talk with me. I think the bottom line is that he genuinely cares about his patients. And he’s so good at what he does! He was very careful and my incision blended right in—you wouldn’t even know that it was there. The rest of the staff at The Center is absolutely darling and I love every one of them! The attitude they have comes from the top and everyone is just so willing and able to help with whatever you need. We’re so lucky to have them all here.”

“I have worked as a nurse for 17 years with lots of surgeons and Dr. Thomas is the most kind-hearted and caring surgeon I know. He has an amazing bedside manner and took care of me in all ways and really cared about my outcome. A lot of times other surgeons are in a hurry or you feel like a number to them but Dr. Thomas’ care and concern really made a difference to me. I was facing cancer on my face and he gave me confidence that my appearance would return and he was more than right. I feel there is no situation he could be in where he couldn’t come up with a way to make a person look and feel perfect. We are lucky to have Dr. Thomas as a surgeon in our community.”
