Physical damage from trauma

BENEFITS

Help improve physical appearance and restore confidence after serious injury or trauma.

THE DETAILS

Post-trauma reconstructive surgery can help correct physical damage caused by a traumatic accident, serious burn or other significant injury. Depending on the type and extent of damage, our experienced surgeons recommend the safest and most effective type of plastic surgery that will meet the patient’s aesthetic objectives and return them to work or activities as quickly as possible.

Ideally, reconstructive surgery occurs immediately following serious injury. Techniques such as skin grafts, tissue expansion and flap surgery are employed as appropriate to restore appearance and function. In addition, reconstructive surgery frequently demands complex planning and may require a number of procedures done in stages.

Our Board Certified plastic surgeons perform these procedures at the hospital or surgical center. Because everyone heals at a different rate, an exact “back-to-normal” date is rarely pinpointed following surgery. However, patients are given a general idea of when to notice improvement.
